The Glass Den has to be one of my favourite brunch spots in Melbourne. Located at the old Pentridge Prison, I find myself constantly going back to try more of the amazingly colourful and creative dishes on the menu.

My two favourite dishes, both on the sweet side, would have to be the Rocky Road French Toast (which has changed a little since I last had it) and the recent Christmas Special Ferrero Lava Brownie.

The Rocky Road French Toast

Brioche French toast, butterfly pea flower mousse, house made sorbet, fresh wild berries, chocolate soil, candied almond, chocolate ganache and burnt marshmallow.

This French toast garden of goodness is just to die for. I could come back ever week just to have it. From the fluffy brioche toast to the sweet chocolate ganache to the sourness of the berries, this dish just has it all.   It has changed a little now, the chocolate soil is now matcha soil, they’ve also added some fruit caviar and changed the sorbet to raspberry white chocolate ice cream.

Ferrero Lava Brownie (Christmas Special)

Ferrero lava brownie, hazelnut filling with blueberries, topped with fresh strawberries, ice cream,  raspberry crumble and whipped cream.

This is by far the best chocolate brownie I have ever tasted! As you cut into it you will find hot oozing hazelnut chocolate with fresh blueberries to balance out the sweetness. If you are a big chocolate lover like myself you will absolutely love this dish. I just wish this dish would be on the menu all year long.
